Delete your Qwalet account

You can delete your Qwalet account and the personal data attached to it at any time, from this page. Enter your email, confirm with the code we send, and the deletion is scheduled. This page also explains exactly what gets removed and what we keep.
Deletion is not instant, on purpose. Your account is deactivated straight away and permanently deleted 30 days later. If you change your mind, signing in to the Qwalet app at any point during those 30 days cancels the deletion.

Changed your mind? Sign in to the Qwalet app before that date and the deletion is cancelled — your account and history come back exactly as they were. After that date nothing can be restored.
You have been signed out everywhere. If you want a copy of your data, ask us before that date at contact@qariha.com.
What is deleted
- Your profile: email address, name and username.
- Your password, two-factor authentication settings and any linked Google account.
- Your devices and sessions, so nothing stays signed in.
- Receipt images you uploaded, and the details read from them.
- Your notes and labels, budgets, scheduled transactions and notifications.
What is kept, and why
Some things do not simply disappear, and it is fairer to say so plainly than to imply otherwise.
- Transaction records, stripped of anything identifying you. Qwalet keeps a double-entry record of money movements. Where a record involves another person — a bill you split, a debt between you — it is also their record, and deleting it would corrupt their account. What we remove is everything that ties those entries to you personally: your name, email, notes and any images. What remains cannot be traced back to you.
- Security and audit events, such as sign-ins and account changes, kept for security and fraud investigation. After deletion these refer only to an anonymous identifier, not to you.
- Your @handle, held unusable for 30 days. It is released from your account when the deletion completes, but nobody can claim it during those 30 days — otherwise someone could take it the moment you left and pass themselves off as you.
- Anything other people wrote themselves. A note someone else typed about a bill you shared is their writing, on their own record, and we do not delete it.
People you shared bills, debts or groups with keep their own copy of those shared records, and those records keep the display name you had when you left. They become plain text — your account is gone and nothing in them links back to it — but the name stays, because their record of what they owe, or are owed, would be meaningless without one.
After 30 days, this cannot be undone
Signing in cancels the deletion at any time in the 30-day window. Once the window closes and deletion completes, we cannot restore your account or your history. If you want a copy of your data, ask for it before then — email contact@qariha.com and we will send you an export.
Just want to stop using Qwalet?
You can sign out or uninstall the app without deleting anything. Your data stays until you ask us to remove it.
If you cannot use the form
Email contact@qariha.com with the subject “Account deletion”, from the email address registered on your Qwalet account. We use that address to confirm the request is really from you.
If you can no longer access that address, say so in your message and we will ask you for another way to verify your identity before we act. We acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete verified deletions within 30 days.
